About me
Prerna Mathews is the Vice President of Product Innovation and Development at Mackenzie
Investments. In her role, she is responsible for designing and leading product innovation across
Mackenzie’s retail mutual funds, ETFs, liquid alternatives, and private assets. Prerna also leads strategic
engagement with partners, regulators, and key industry stakeholders to position Mackenzie as a
credible and pragmatic product innovator.
Before her current role, Prerna was the Vice President of ETF Product Strategy, where she established
Mackenzie’s ETF business. Her earlier experience includes several positions within ETF capital markets,
product development, and product management at an international investment company, as well as
roles in institutional sales and product development at various Canadian financial services companies.
Prerna has an undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Windsor, as well
as an MBA from IE Business School in Spain. She was named as one of Wealth Professional Canada's Top
40 Under 40 Rising Stars in 2025.
Prerna serves as Vice-Chair for the board of directors of the Canadian ETF Association.
